The Last Days

The Last Days Of Salton Academy - Jennifer Brozek                                                                   I received a copy of Last Days in exchange for an honest review, and to be honest I had no idea what it was about. All I had was a title and an idea of what it could be about. A school slowly dying. Had no idea that it was a zombie novel, not a clue. The thing is that this is not your typical zombie novel. It's way more than that. It's a character study of a school doing what they can to survive. There a lot of plot lines running through the novel and at times it's very distracting, but if you tried to streamline some of them the novel wouldn't work as well as it does. You have these survivors and their stories connect to the entire plot. It then becomes addicting to see what happens and w...

Season Of Decay

Season Of Decay The Decaying Worlds Saga Book 2 - Michael W. Garza  5-5 stars                                                                You want a tight, intelligent zombie novel you've come to the right place. Seasons picks up after the first novel ends so it's pretty important to read the other books in the series before picking this one up. What I like about this series is that Michael has attempted to put his own spin on the zombie apocalypse without relying on gore or even the zombies themselves. The focus is on the survivors who are now faced with a coming horde of the undead. I enjoy Garza's work a great deal because he writes stories that pull you in and make you feel as if you're one of the characters. As the series progresses we can see the story evolve organically which can be ...

Undead Fleshcrave

Undead Fleshcrave - Jim Gorforth  5/5   http://www.amazon.com/Undead-Fleshcrave-Trigger-Jim-Goforth-ebook/dp/B01ADNDDZW/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1452549055&sr=1-1&keywords=Undead+Fleshcrave                                                                        I received a copy of Fleshcrave directly from Jim Goforth in exchange for an honest review and all I really had at the time to go on was the cover art and the realization that Jim had a new book coming out. If you've followed my reviews on Goodreads or even here you're probably aware that his novel Plebs was one of my favorite novels of 2014. Now I'm looking at Fleshcrave and I can't help but think; What if it sucks? It's a valid question because even guys like Stephen King have a bad yea...

With Tooth And Claw Review

With Tooth And Claw - Jim Goforth 5/5                                                     Plebs was one of the best horror novels of 2014. It was an old school splatterpunk novel that turned the dial up to eleven and ripped your face clean off. How in the hell do you top that? It seems as if Goforth is everywhere these days and as we wait for his latest full length novel we have With Tooth And Claw to tide us over. This is a collection of six short stories and a novella that proves that Plebs wasn't a fluke. Horror it seems has lost it's edge and while some horror writers will use gore and violence as a character, Goforth makes it a part of the plot. These six tales are dark and build a nice link to the foundation that he had successfully built with his debut novel. For fans of Plebs Goforth adheres to the...
