  Razor Blade Candies Book One: Loves Lies Dead Kyle M. Scott 5/5 stars                                                                        You ever read a book that seems like it's headed one way and then before you know it everything veers sideways and you find yourself cheering? Love Lies Dead is that sort of book. It's a short but brutal read that basically says; "I'm back did you miss me?" Yes, Scott, we did. The thing that makes this work is that Kyle uses emotions to suck you in. You can almost feel the loss that Paul feels and you can't help but feel for him. He's just lost his girlfriend and Scott details these scenes so vividly you aren't just reading about Paul you feel as if you're right there with him. This is going to be one of those novels right? Okay, maybe a ghost story? Oh, no...

I'm a huge fan of this guy's work and you can see that with each release he's growing as a writer. He's not content to just gross you out he has the ability to make you think a little. Each of these stories has an underlying message and it's your job as the reader to figure out what that message is. The fact is that Kyle is a damn good writer. Kyle M. Scott - Protection 5/5                                                                I received a copy of Protection in exchange for an honest review and I wasn't prepared for what I actually read. Kyle has been known for writing in your face splatterpunk. Blood, and total face melting mayhem. Protection has none of this and that's not a bad thing at all. Protection is a creepy little horror novel that escalates slowly and here we get to see a new side to Scott. A kinder gentler Scott that holds back on the gore that he's become known for and gives his readers something totally different. As a parent I could relate to this a lot and the theme of protection is the glue that holds this all together. The question here is simple. How far would you go to protect your children?
