 The Complex - Brian Keene 5/5 Stars                                                        I received a copy of The Complex from Deadite Press but had a huge backlog of stuff to get through. It taunted me though because this is a Brian Keene novel and I'm a huge fan of his. Forget all the labels and just focus instead on the writing. Keene knows horror. He knows how to pull you into a story and he does that by giving you characters that you actually care about. That's the strength of The Complex. It's a violent novel that focuses less on the why this is happening, and more on the how do they survive this. As you read it you may have more than a few questions, but it doesn't really matter because seeing these people survive the ordeal is far more important than why there are violent naked people wandering around killing people.  ...

Shane has a unique writing style that is reminiscent of guys like Edward Lee. I'm a huge fan of the guy and have a ton of his stuff on my Kindle. When you read McKenzie's stuff you should know that it's not going to be pleasant at all. This is true balls out splatterpunk. Tons of gore, and sheer all out mayhem. Underneath that mayhem though is a talented writer. If he was just a guy that filled his books with gore he wouldn't be one of my favorit...

A God Of Hungry Walls   5/5                                                                                   I received an advance copy of Walls from Deadite Press in exchange for an honest review. The book isn't available until October First and I don't believe it's up for pre-order either. I don't even know if I'm supposed to be reviewing this early but after seeing the cover and reading the blurb I couldn't wait to dive into this. This is Garret's first horror release and of course with Deadite Press being the publisher this has all the makings of a classic.      Shane McKenzie - Wet And Screaming 5/5                                                                 I received a copy of Wet And Screaming in exchange for an honest review and I also feel the need to maybe throw in a disclaimer because this is one of those books that make people a little butt hurt. In this overly sensitive society you can't review a book like this without one. People like to blame everyone else when they're offended and I'm from the school of if you're offended then maybe, just maybe you needed to be offended. You don't need me to tell you that this book is not for the weak. Look at that cover. Shane McKenzie is the kind of writer that writes blackened, gore infested, horror.
